To make this chili, gather the following ingredients two pounds of ground beef, one-fourth cup of green bell pepper, one-fourth cup of red bell pepper, 1 onion, 2 cloves of garlic, 2 stalks of celery, 1 14.5-ounce can of diced tomatoes, a 16-ounce can of tomato paste, 1 cup of beef broth, 1 jalapeno pepper, a 16-ounce can of chili beans, a 15-ounce can of kidney beans, 1 tablespoon of chili powder, one-half teaspoon of oregano, 1 teaspoon of cumin, 2 and a half teaspoons of salt, and 2 teaspoons of black pepper.
Begin by browning the ground beef in a frying pan, seasoning it with salt and pepper. Drain off the fat after 6 minutes and set it aside.
In another frying pan, sauté olive oil, celery, onions, red and green bell peppers, and jalapeno peppers for 5 minutes.
Add the browned ground beef, diced tomatoes, tomato paste, and beef broth to the sautéed vegetables. Mix well.
Now, add garlic, chili powder, oregano, cumin, and the remaining salt and pepper. Mix thoroughly.
Finally, add kidney beans and chili beans, mix, and cover. Allow the chili to cook on low heat for 2 hours, stirring occasionally.
